Why Sew?

Do you remember those childhood projects that we all used to attempt? Like sewing a beanbag together (hoping the contents wouldn't spill out once assembled), stapling a homemade pillow together around some poorly-distributed stuffing, and trying to fix a pair of pants, but accidently sewing the legs together? These would have been the extent of my sewing eandeavors without the example and inspiration of the incredible women in my family who believed that sewing a gift for someone is as close as you can come to giving them a piece of yourself - that laboring with diligence over a project quiets the heart and soul - that making something beautiful and functional in some way allows us to participate in God's marvelous creation.
